Every compound in the PeptidesDirect catalog is sold strictly for laboratory research. This page explains what the Research Use Only (RUO) designation means, who our products are for, and the handling standards we expect — so researchers can buy with confidence and clarity.
The RUO designation
Research Use Only is a regulatory designation for chemical compounds supplied for laboratory investigation. RUO products are not evaluated or approved by the FDA as drugs, are not dietary supplements under DSHEA, and are not cosmetics. They carry no claims of safety or efficacy in humans, and no instructions for human administration. Every PeptidesDirect product page, label, and invoice carries this designation.
Permitted uses
In vitro laboratory research
Cell culture, assay development, and bench-scale experimentation conducted by qualified researchers in appropriate facilities.
Analytical reference material
Use as a reference standard for HPLC, LC-MS, and other analytical method development and validation.

Strictly prohibited
