SLU-PP-332 is a selective, orally bioavailable pan-agonist of the estrogen-related receptors ERRα, ERRβ, and ERRγ — nuclear receptors that drive expression of mitochondrial biogenesis, oxidative phosphorylation, and fatty-acid oxidation genes. Unlike AMPK-activating exercise mimetics, SLU-PP-332 works at the transcriptional level downstream of PGC-1α to remodel skeletal muscle and adipose tissue toward an oxidative phenotype.
