Kisspeptin-10 is the 10-amino acid C-terminal fragment of the 54-amino acid kisspeptin protein. It acts through KISS1R (GPR54) on hypothalamic GnRH neurons — the most upstream activator of the reproductive axis. It is the 'master switch' that initiates puberty and maintains adult reproductive function.
