Research Applications & Benefits

What is Adipotide (FTPP)?

Targets blood vessels feeding fat tissue using a prohibitin-targeted delivery system.

Listed vial contents: 10mg. These are supplied quantities, not administration doses. Current pricing and availability are shown in the strength selector.

What mechanisms are being studied?

Adipotide (FTPP — Fat-Targeted Proapoptotic Peptide) is a peptidomimetic that uses a two-domain design: a targeting sequence (CKGGRAKDC) that homes to prohibitin on adipose vasculature endothelial cells, and a cell-killing sequence (D(KLAKLAK)2) that triggers mitochondrial apoptosis. It destroys the blood supply feeding fat tissue, causing adipose cell death through vascular disruption rather than traditional lipolysis.

What are the research questions?

  • Targeted fat reduction: Destroys blood vessels specifically feeding white adipose tissue, causing rapid and significant fat loss in animal models.
  • Obesity research: Provides a fundamentally different approach to fat reduction — vascular targeting rather than metabolic or appetite-based.

What does the published work describe?

Barnhart KF et al. (Sci Transl Med 2011) — Obese rhesus monkeys lost approximately 11% body weight and 39% abdominal fat in just 28 days. Improved insulin resistance and kidney function were also observed. MRI confirmed selective reduction of white adipose tissue.

What are the limits of this evidence?

The research described concerns the cited experimental materials and models, not proof that this supplied vial is a treatment. Cell or animal findings do not establish human benefits. Clinical findings, where cited, apply to the tested formulation and population; they do not validate this research product for human use.

How should I check lot documentation?

Match the product, strength and lot to an original analysis document. Literature describes experimental findings; it does not verify the contents of this inventory. A report is evidence only for the product, strength and lot it names.

How is Adipotide (FTPP) handled in the lab?

Plan a Adipotide (FTPP) stock solution from the sequence, the listed molecular weight and, when reported for the same lot, net peptide content. Test-dissolve a small portion first, store the powder sealed, cold and dry, and split solutions into single-use aliquots. These are laboratory handling notes, not administration guidance.

Research Use Only. Not for human consumption, therapeutic, veterinary or any in-vivo use.
