Peptide Reconstitution Calculator
Convert vial size, bacteriostatic water volume, and target dose into concentration, draw volume, and U-100 insulin syringe units. For laboratory measurement only — strictly Research Use Only.
Inputs
Note: 1 mg = 1,000 mcg. Common ratio is 1 mL BAC water per 5 mg peptide.
Results
- Concentration
- 2500 mcg/mL(2.5 mg/mL)
- Draw volume
- 0.1 mL
- U-100 syringe units
- 10 units
- Doses per vial
- ~20
How the calculation works
- Convert vial size to micrograms: mg × 1000.
- Divide by BAC water volume to get concentration in mcg/mL.
- Divide target dose (mcg) by concentration to get draw volume in mL.
- Multiply by 100 to convert mL to U-100 insulin syringe units.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I calculate peptide dosage from a reconstituted vial?
Divide the desired dose (in mcg) by the concentration (mcg per mL) to get the volume in mL. Multiply by 100 to convert to insulin syringe units (U-100). For example, 250 mcg from a 5,000 mcg/mL solution = 0.05 mL = 5 units on a U-100 syringe.
What is the standard BAC water to peptide ratio?
A common starting ratio is 1 mL of bacteriostatic water per 5 mg of peptide, giving 5,000 mcg/mL. Adjust the BAC volume to land on a concentration that makes your target dose an easy syringe reading.
What does U-100 mean on an insulin syringe?
U-100 means the syringe is calibrated for insulin at 100 units per mL. 100 units = 1.0 mL, 50 units = 0.5 mL, 10 units = 0.1 mL. Most peptide research uses U-100 syringes because they give precise sub-milliliter measurements.
Why does my calculated unit reading have decimals?
Syringes can only be read to the nearest unit (or half unit). If the calculator returns 7.3 units, round to the nearest mark on your syringe and re-check by adjusting BAC water volume so doses fall on whole-unit increments.
